Purpose of the Role
To provide comprehensive HR operational support across all areas including recruitment, industrial relation, HR administration, training, and HR systems management. The role ensures the smooth day-to-day functioning of the HR department, supports compliance, and strengthens employee relations in a highly regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
About the role
As our HR Generalist, you will :
Recruitment & Onboarding
Oversee operational level recruitment and selection for operators, packers and other production rolesLiaise with line managers to define job needs and coordinate shortlisting and interviewsOversee onboarding, induction, and new employee documentationIndustrial Relations
Handle daily IR matters : warnings, hearings, grievances, and consultationsEnsure accurate record-keeping of disciplinary actionsEngage regularly with supervisors and shop stewards to maintain positive labour relationsTime & Attendance Management
Manage and maintain the Trach Tech / Webregister systemTrack clock-ins, overtime, absenteeism, and leave trendsPrepare validated data for Group Payroll submissionHR Administration & HRIS Maintenance
Maintain accurate employee records and update the HR Information Systems (HRIS)Manage employee life cycle data (appointments, changes, exits)Prepare monthly HR reports on headcount, absenteeism, and turnoverEnsure compliance with BCEA, internal HR policies, and take ownership of EE data management and submissionsTraining & Development
Coordinate skills, technical, and Health & Safety training across departmentsMaintain training registers, attendance records, and training matrixCoordinate WSP / ATR and maintain SETA complianceIdentify training needs in collaboration with supervisors and HR ManagerEmployee Engagement & Communication
Support HR Manager with staff engagement, wellness, and communication initiativesPlan and execute internal social events, team-building, and recognition activitiesJob Requirements
What we're looking for
Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management or related fieldMinimum 3 years as a HR Officer or HR Generalist in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environmentProficient in MS Office and PaySpace; exposure to Trac Tech / Webregister advantageousKnowledge of SETA submissions, EE reporting, and Health & Safety training administrationStrong people orientation with a genuine passion for working directly with employees and building positive workplace relationshipsClosing date
