Senior Sales Consultant – Luxury Safari Travel Company | Remote
Salary : Negotiable, dependent on experience
A leading luxury safari travel company is seeking a Senior Sales Consultant to join their remote team. This role is responsible for the end-to-end selling, consultation, and booking of all products, including itinerary building, product development, and customer service, in line with company standards, operational systems, and policies. The Senior Sales Consultant will act as the primary contact point for clients and will maintain strong knowledge of both new and existing products and itineraries.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full sales cycle , including quoting, invoicing, supplier confirmation, and payment follow-up
Take responsibility for major accounts and ensure client satisfaction
Build and tailor itineraries for clients in line with company standards
Provide excellent customer service and handle complaints professionally
Manage group bookings and tour series efficiently
Maintain accurate reporting and provide updates to management
Collaborate with local operations, sales, and purchasing teams effectively
Mentor and coach junior staff to ensure continuous development
Participate in a shift system including after-hours emergency support and Saturdays as required
Work independently and remotely while maintaining productivity
Qualifications & Experience
Strong destination knowledge of South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Zambia
Knowledge of East Africa, Mozambique, and Malawi is advantageous
At least 5 years’ experience as a Senior Sales Consultant in the travel industry, ideally in the luxury sector
Experience using Travel Studio and Wetu or similar reservation software
Proven ability to execute all stages of the booking lifecycle
Experience in dealing with groups, tour series, and major accounts
Fluent in English , both written and verbal

Strong communication skills via phone, email, and virtual meetings
High level of customer focus , with strong complaint handling skills
Excellent negotiation and influencing abilities
Self-driven and able to work flexibly to meet deadlines
Competent in Microsoft Office , particularly Excel, and internet research
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
Friendly, flexible, and a sense of humour

High conversion rates and achieving sales targets
Quick turnaround times on client requests
Understanding inter-departmental workflows and collaboration
Work from home with reliable internet and electricity , including during load shedding
Company provides laptop and additional screen; staff must use MS Teams and WhatsApp for communication
Working Hours
Standard : Monday to Friday, 08 : 00 to 17 : 00
Shift week : After-hours emergency support and Saturday 09 : 00 to 13 : 00
