Junior Accountant

Our UK-based client is a leading accredited credit broker licensed by the FCA, specialising in IT leasing solutions. They provide businesses with access to hardware and software from all major national and international distributors, backed by expert technical support teams delivering both on-site and remote assistance. Their mission is to be the trusted one-stop provider for IT leasing, ensuring clients’ technology needs are supported and exceeded throughout the entire leasing term.

They are now seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support their growing operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to contribute to a dynamic business that sits at the intersection of finance and technology.

This is a remote position open to those living anywhere in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Manage purchase and sales ledger processes, ensuring timely updates.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and other compliance requirements.
• Produce monthly management accounts and financial reports for leadership.
• Assist with the preparation of annual accounts up to audit-ready stage.
• Compile and deliver reports to banks on leasing book performance.
• Monitor arrears in the leasing book, liaising with debt collection teams where needed.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, journals, and nominal codes.
• Support monthly and year-end close processes.
• Assist with audits, tax filings, and liaise with external auditors and accountants.
• Oversee and support tasks of a small remote finance team.
