Job descriptionMinimum of 5 years of experience as a 1st Officer on a cruise ship or private yacht Valid STCW certification Valid Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) Proficiency in navigation and ship handling Excellent communication and leadership skills Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Basic mechanical and technical knowledge Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist the Captain in managing and operating the vessel
- Ensure the safety and security of all passengers and crew onboard the cruise ship
- Manage the navigation and steering of the vessel
- Supervise and train other crew members
- Maintain and update navigational charts and equipment
- Monitor weather conditions and make necessary adjustments to the vessel's course
- Conduct regular safety drills and ensure all safety procedures are followed
- Maintain accurate records of all activities and incidents on board
- Communicate effectively with the Captain and other crew members
- Ensure compliance with all maritime regulations and company policies
- Assist with the loading and unloading of cargo and supplies
- Handle any emergency situations that may arise
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Captain.
