Purpose of the role :
The role incumbent is responsible for advising coaching and supporting line managers and staff on the full range of HR functions and services including employee relations performance management recruitment and selection job evaluation remuneration and benefits induction learning and development employee wellness organisational design ensuring consistency with relevant legislation and the company HR policies and procedures.
The position reports to the People Business Partner for Mr D.
Your responsibilities will include
Advise coach and support Managers and Team Leaders on the full range of HR functions and services including employee relations performance management recruitment and selection job evaluation remuneration and benefits induction learning and development and employee wellness ensuring consistency with relevant legislation and the company HR policies and proceduresImplementation of the HR Strategy and policies in the business ensuring alignment to strategyUndertake specific projects in consultation with line management to facilitate HR activities and enhance customer service : planning execution and delivery of projects within the HR PortfolioProvide timeous and relevant HR management informationCoordinate payroll submissions and checks to ensure accurate and timeous deliveryAdvise and Support Managers and Team Leaders with IR-related incidents and processesDrive Absenteeism and Case management processesSupport the onboarding process which includes drafting of contracts gathering new starter data ensuring first day readiness induction etc.Co-ordinate onboarding and resignation process and ensure leavers and new starters adhere to company policyEnsure all employee systems are kept up to dateSupport all employee relations processes with templates documentation scheduling and updating the employee relations databaseProvide monthly reports to the HRBP and Managers and Team Leads as requiredManage ad hoc projects from time to timeProvide general administrative support to the HRBPAssist staff with day to day queriesInvolved in and drive festive recruitment initiatives and processes such as open days InterviewsAttributes required
Experience in delivery in an HR advisory capacity preferably within the Retail sectorExperience in coaching and consulting in a changing environmentStrong customer service orientation with excellent interpersonal skillsExcellent oral - including presentation - and written communication skillsDemonstrated problem solving and decision making skillsGood working and theoretical knowledge of current legislation and HR policiesAbility to work under pressure show initiative and multitaskHigh level of accuracy and analytical thinkingProven PC literacy (MS Office) Google suite and exposure to HR information systemsAbility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentSense of urgency and works well under pressureComfortable and able to function in an ambiguous fast paced high pressureenvironmentExcellent analytical and reporting skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAble to present information verbally and in writing to enable decision makingDemonstrates accuracy and detail orientationDemonstrates adherence to confidentiality and respect for personal and business informationActs ethically and with integrity at all timesDemonstrates ability to facilitate effectivelyAbility to work with all levels of management including top managementAbility to prioritize in time sensitive environmentBe accountable at all timesProactive and takes initiativeAble to assert own position irrespective of possible resistance to ideas or information with respectQualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor of Technology Degree : HR Management or BCom HR Management or BCom Industrial Psychology or related fieldAt least 1-2 years HR experienceSound knowledge of labour laws and policies that govern the defined dutiesProven project management skillsProven experience in Industrial RelationsLets talk about life @ Mr D
