DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Server & Cloud Administration
- Manage, configure, and maintain Windows Server, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365 services
- Implement and monitor patch management policies across servers and endpoints
- Ensure high availability, uptime, and disaster recovery readiness
Network & Security Management
Configure and manage firewalls, switches, and network security appliancesMaintain and enforce group policies and endpoint security controlsOversee antivirus, threat detection, and response platformsRMM & Monitoring
Manage Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools for proactive detection and resolutionProduce regular health, performance, and compliance reports for infrastructure and endpointsOptimise alerting and escalation processes for faster resolutionAdvanced Troubleshooting & Escalation
Serve as escalation point for 1st and 2nd line teams on complex technical issuesLead root-cause analysis and remediation of recurring infrastructure problemsDocumentation & Compliance
Maintain detailed records of system configurations, patch logs, and network diagramsEnsure adherence to IT governance, POPIA, PCI-DSS, and internal ICT security standardsProjects & Continuous Improvement
Support IT infrastructure projects, upgrades, and migrationsRecommend and implement new technologies to enhance efficiency, security, and scalabilityCollaborate with IT leadership to standardise best practices across stores and head officeAdvanced Windows Server and Azure administrationFirewall, VPN, and switching configurationPatch management and group policy deploymentRMM platforms and reportingAntivirus and endpoint protection solutionsBackup, replication, and disaster recovery toolsRequirements
Degree / diploma in Computer Science, IT, or related fieldMinimum 4–5 years of experience in 3rd line / server administrationValid driver’s licenceAbility to travel to sites on occasionStrong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, and M365 ecosystemProven expertise with firewalls, switches, VPNs, and RMM toolsExperience with enterprise patching, GPO management, and endpoint securityFamiliarity with IT service management (ticketing, SLA adherence, documentation)Apply
