Job Summary
The Metering Sales Manager is responsible for managing the overall sales activities within the organization. This role involves leading a team of sales professionals, developing and implementing sales strategies, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The Metering Sales Manager conducts regular sales meetings, reviews sales data, and collaborates with other departments to address customer needs and drive continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include managing sales documentation, providing training and development opportunities for staff, and reporting on sales performance to senior management.
Duties & Responsibilities
Training and Development
- Conduct training sessions for new sales team members
- Create and implement ongoing training programs for current sales staff
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of team members and provide feedback and coaching as needed
- Identify and address any knowledge or skill gaps within the team
Sales Management
Set sales targets and goals for the teamMonitor and track individual and team sales performanceIdentify and implement strategies to increase sales and meet targetsAnalyze sales data and provide reports to upper managementCustomer Relations
Ensure excellent customer service is provided by all team membersHandle any escalated customer complaints or issuesMaintain positive relationships with key clients and accountsIdentify and implement strategies to improve the overall customer experienceInventory Management
Monitor and track inventory levels for productsCoordinate with purchasing department to ensure product availabilityImplement strategies to reduce inventory costs and improve turnover rateConduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepanciesTeam Mentorship
Empowerment : Mentor junior team members, fostering their growth and skill developmentCollaboration : Work closely with cross functional teams to align processes and achieve goalsJob Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.Minimum of 5 years experience in water metering with at least 2 year people leader experience within similar industry.Experience dealing with utilities and / or municipalities.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.Proficiency in sales tools and software (e.g., Salesforce, CRM systems, SAP).Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross functional teams.Strong negotiation and closing skills.Knowledge of market research and competitive analysis techniques.Ability to develop and implement sales strategies and plans.Ability to travel as and when required.High Impact Behaviors
