POST DOCTORAL FELLOW : SOIL SPECTROSCOPY X 1 POSITION

The Agricultural Research Council seeks a Post Doctoral Fellow for a single position in Soil Spectroscopy.

Job location : Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa.

Responsibilities include :

• Conducting foundational and advanced research for a Post‑doc level.
• Conducting soil sample collection, preparation, and analytical procedures.
• Applying fundamental soil and crop science principles to research challenges.
• Working consistently and reliably to produce high‑quality, publishable research (three peer‑review papers per year).
• Developing expertise in soil spectral data acquisition and interpretation.
• Application of coding for data analysis, using programming languages such as R and / or Python.
• Conducting study leading for Honours, MSc and PhD level studies.
• Training and teaching in soil spectroscopy, data science and coding.

Employment type : Contract.
