Overview
Loss Adjustor (Short-Term Insurance) role at PPS. This position provides guidance and assistance to PPS Short-Term Claims department in the segmentation and channelling of claims in reducing the loss ratio and claims costs. It includes responses to the PPS Internal Arbitrator and NFO regarding complaints. To entrench a solid claim’s handling philosophy across PPS STI, to control all claims related aspects emanating from the claims environment and to supply technical claims advice to the PPS Claims department. Also responsible for onboarding and managing service providers.
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Minimum 15 years short term insurance claims experience
- Minimum 10 years Loss Adjusting or Short-Term Verification Experience
- Claims Management experience
- Motor-, Non-Motor- and Commercial Claims experience
- Conflict management and Client service
- Computer literate
- Code 8 Driver’s license with own vehicle
- CFE Qualification (Advantage)

Provide focus on profitability measures in terms of claims spent and act as support for the Technical Operational Manager of PPS STI.Assess the merits of all claims to determine their validity against the policy wording.On a daily basis check all claims registered and determine the way forward (Immediate settlement, Fast Track verification, Full Verification).Monitor the financial movements of claims by collating claims paid and the estimates.Guide and initiate change initiatives in the PPS Short Term Claims area through regularly engaging with the area and giving support with continuous monitoring and auditing.Physically check up on SAPS, Towing, witnesses to determine the way forward with the claim.Do all IA and NFO feedback and update the register.Reporting & Audits
Compile audit finding reports and distribute to all relevant stakeholders.Monitor statistics in order to timeously notify PPS STI management of any negative changes in claims.Constantly reviewing and identifying insufficient claims processes and efficiencies and recommend improvements to ensure cost efficiency.Check / Audit MBR (Motor Body Repair) Quotation and verify damages are consistent with the claim’s description.Check / Audit Non-Motor Claims, quotations and invoices.Check alarm reports and keypad downloads. Obtain Lightning reports if needed.Keep records and provide a monthly report of savings.Seniority level
