Job Description
Hire Resolve's client is looking for a Tier 3 Infrastructure Engineer to join their team in Midrand, GP. The Tier 3 Infrastructure Engineer provides advanced technical support and expertise in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex IT infrastructure systems.This role involves managing high-level escalations, performing root cause analysis, and implementing solutions for network, server, and storage issues. The engineer will design, deploy, and support infrastructure solutions, ensuring system availability, security, and performance. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement upgrades, support cloud and on-premise systems, and contribute to infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge in networking, virtualization, and enterprise-level systems is essential.Responsibilities
Infrastructure Administration & Support :
Provide L2-L3 administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance for :Fortinet Firewalls, IDS / IPS, VPN, Security Appliances & Cloud SecurityRouting, Switching, and Wireless NetworkingVMware vCenter and Hyper-V HypervisorsServer Hardware and ComponentsStorage Infrastructure (SAN and vSAN)Linux / Windows Systems AdministrationActive Directory / Identity Management AdministrationAzure, AWS, and Google Cloud ComputingNetwork & Systems MonitoringSecurity Management :
Analyze and triage security events and alarms detected by the SIEM systemRespond to security incidents / threats logged on the service desk and remediate / mitigate as necessaryManage / maintain security infrastructure and toolsets (Firewalls, Networking equipment, Vulnerability Management systems, SIEM, etc.)Assist with designing, implementing, and managing endpoint management and security solutions (Anti-malware, Antivirus, Mobile Device Management)Develop / maintain security safeguards around the organization’s cloud footprintProjects & Improvement :
Assist with IT & Security related projects, rollouts, and infrastructure maintenance, including Backups (VEEAM), Business Continuity, and Disaster RecoveryMaintain / improve the security of IT systems through proactive monitoring and event managementAutomate repetitive tasksProvide technical input into company IT security standards and best practices aligned with industry standards (e.g., ISO27001, SOC 2)Stay updated with industry trends around cybersecurity and provide input for business improvements and innovationsTeam Collaboration :
Train and upskill junior staffAction requests relating to Network, Security & Hyper-V Infrastructure logged on the service deskAssist with other System Administration as neededRequirements
Education and Certifications :
Microsoft MCSE / Cisco CCNA / VMware CertificationLinux / Azure / AWS / Google Cloud CertificationEC Council CEH / Security+ / CISSPFortinet FCP / FCSSTechnical Competencies :
10+ years of experience within a Network & Security support environment, working across network and server infrastructure both on-premise and in the CloudMinimum of 5 years of experience in the following :Network administration and support for firewalls, switches, Wireless (Fortigate & Cisco), and VPN client connectionsWindows 2012 and newer Server Administration and Active Directory / DNS / DHCP administrationLinux administrationBackup and recoverySystem Administrator experienceProven ability to administer and configure Virtual environmentsBehavioural Competencies :
