To ensure International Sales Targets are achieved and to grow Exports to the required levels; to build the Kaytech reputation internationally and to be known as a global geosynthetic player. Extensive International travelling is required of this role.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Ensure effective pricing strategies and tactics are used for all export sales.
  • Grow profitable sales in the key regions.
  • Negotiate terms and agreements with international stakeholders and customers.
  • Ensure sales profitability and revenue targets are met.
  • Conduct international competitor analysis.
  • Ensure effective customer service levels are achieved, including freight, logistics and shipping.
  • Engage with clients to understand their design needs, preferences, and project goals.

  • Strong multi-tasking ability with complex Civil Engineering and Business Commercial issues.
  • Cope with high pressure, workload, and travel pressures.
  • Good with figures and statistics.
  • A sound technical knowledge of geosynthetics in civil engineering.
  • Attention to details, strong negotiating, and trading ability.
  • Able to interact with clients at all levels.
  • Be proactive with a measured approach and flair for business.
  • Have big picture thinking, able to put company interests first.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Possess excellent technical aptitude and knowledge.
  • Able to effectively service international clients.
  • Preparing and compiling trip feedback reports for management.
  • Setting up working relationships with overseas clients, distributors, and agents.
  • Setting of export sales, pricing and product strategies and tactics.
  • Making sound decisions, recommendations on business issues.
  • Ability to develop innovative design solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Keep key people updated on changes in standards, industry developments, market trends, and major projects in the international arena.
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Knowledge Required

  • Relevant Tertiary qualification – preferably technically oriented.
  • Civil or Geotechnical BEng / BSc / BTech Qualification would be advantageous.
  • Must have strong applications and product knowledge.
  • 5-10 years’ experience in Sales and / or Marketing in Civils and / or Geosynthetics.
  • 5-10 years’ experience of international business / travel into Africa.
  • Proficient in giving presentations and lectures in public forums, including submission of technical papers, articles and technical documents related to geosynthetics.
  • Risk Analysis – Ability to evaluate and determine risk matrix for Export market through experience, product knowledge, and market intel.
  • Strong understanding of design principles and methodologies using geosynthetics.
  • Proven experience in preparing and presenting detailed design proposals to clients.
  • Ability to develop detailed drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in gathering client requirements and translating them into design proposals.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing design proposals.
  • Ability to review and ensure the quality of design deliverables.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and client needs.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and adopt new design technologies and practices.
  • Must have good computer skills. Word; Excel; PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of freight, logistics, international rates of exchange and key economic indicators.
  • Good report writing skills for reports, agreements, memoranda of understanding and design proposals.
