- Grade 12
- 1 -2-year experience in a similar role
- Culinary qualification would be advantageous
- Valid Drivers License
Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in the preparation of meals, especially salads and dessertsPlaces entrees, salads, desserts and other food on the serving lineKeeps the serving line well-stocked and cleanStores and records food leftoversKeeps canteen tables, kitchen and other areas clean and orderlyTo carry out any reasonable request by managementMay be required to assist with any other duties that may be outside scope of responsibilityClosing Date

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Catering Manager to join our team at an upmarket retirement village. The ideal candidate must be fluent in Afrikaans and English, have a strong background in the retirement sector, and proven experience catering management.
Duties & Responsibilities :
Plan, prepare, and oversee daily meal services for up to 140 residentsDiscuss and confirm catering arrangements with managementCoordinate menu planning with dietary requirements in mindComplete daily costing and stock control sheetsManage the purchase, storage, and issuing of all stockEnsure the provision and control of all kitchen equipment and consumablesMaintain hygiene and safety standards as per HACCP requirementsOversee and record all temperature logs, food safety documentation, and expense reportsSupervise and schedule kitchen and dining room staffAddress and resolve all complaints regarding meals and serviceEnsure cleanliness of all kitchen, storage, and dining facilitiesCandidate Requirements :
Matric certificateRelevant hospitality or culinary qualificationMinimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a retirement or healthcare environmentFluent in Afrikaans and English (written and spoken)Experience managing and preparing mealsSolid understanding of stock management, cost control, and food safety regulationsStrong leadership and staff supervision skillsPersonal Attributes :
