About the Role
The Head of Finance will take full responsibility for financial leadership across the business. This includes managing a small team, overseeing financial operations, improving processes, and supporting the executive team with strategic insights. You’ll play a major part in refining systems, driving discipline across the organisation, and creating a finance function that can scale confidently.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership
- Oversee end-to-end finance operations, including reporting, budgeting, compliance, and cash flow.
- Provide accurate monthly management accounts, financial insights, and board-level reporting.
- Partner with executives on strategic planning, scenario modelling, and performance tracking.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and grow the finance team.Build a culture of accountability, clarity, and continuous development.Strengthen administrative and operational capabilities across the department.Financial Operations & Controls
Ensure strong financial governance, internal controls, and compliance with all relevant regulations.Improve systems, processes, and reporting frameworks to support growth.Oversee reconciliations, financial schedules, treasury, and statutory submissions.Business Growth & Operational Support
Work closely with operational teams to ensure financial and commercial alignment.Support business development activities, new product launches, and group expansion initiatives.Drive efficiency, cost control, and disciplined financial management.Requirements
CIMA (ACMA / CGMA) qualification required.8+ years of experience in Finance, ideally within financial services, investments, asset management, lending, or related sectors.Proven experience leading finance teams.Strong operational and administrative capability — organised, detail-driven, and steady under pressure.Strong understanding of budgeting, reporting, cash flow, compliance, and governance.Experience improving processes and building scalable finance functions.Commercial mindset with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels.Benefits
