About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned leader from the mining industry with 15+ years of experience in mining operations, fleet performance management, and customer / dealer engagement. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working in the Europe-Africa-Middle East and Eurasia (EAME) region. This is a senior-level role within the Caterpillar Resource Industries division, requiring proven leadership in managing complex site operations and driving performance improvements across large mining fleets.What You’ll Do
As a Site Performance Director, you will lead a high-impact team of Site Performance Managers focused on optimizing mining fleet performance across key sites. You will work closely with customers, Cat dealers, peers, and internal stakeholders to drive equipment availability, reduce cost per ton, and ensure operational excellence—especially in challenging mining site environments. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively within a matrix organization, will be essential.Key Responsibilities
Accountable for meeting Fleet Physical Availability targets at all prioritized sites across the region.Lead, recruit, and develop a team of Site Performance Managers across the EAME region.Deliver executive-level reporting and performance updates to senior leadership.Manage business risk related to commercial activity at key mining sites.Partner with regional and commercial leaders to execute recovery strategies and performance improvement plans.Assign and manage field service personnel to optimize resource utilization and meet customer needs.Act as a technical and strategic advisor during sales cycles and service agreement negotiations.Gather and report customer support trends to engineering and product teams for continuous improvement.Monitor and improve key site metrics such as equipment availability, uptime, and cost per ton.Lead root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for site performance issues in collaboration with the team and relevant business partners.Co-develop and implement product support and equipment management processes with dealers and customers.Serve as a consultant to dealer and customer operations and executive teams on equipment strategy and performance.What You Bring
Minimum Requirements :
15+ years of professional experience in mining, heavy equipment, and field service operations.8–10 years of proven leadership experience, including team management and strategic decision-making.Extensive field-based exposure in mining environments.Strong background in Service Operations, Condition Monitoring, Connectivity, Customer Support Agreements, and dealer development.Deep technical knowledge of mining equipment systems and operations, including hydraulics, rebuilds, ground engagement tools, and digital monitoring platforms.Fluent in English. Additional languages such as French are a strong plus.Strong emotional intelligence, cultural awareness, and the ability to work independently in dynamic environments while being a solid team player.Travel : 60–70% across the EAME region.Core Competencies & Skills :
