The Extended Curriculum Programme (ECP) plays a critical role in the university’s transformation agenda to widen access to science education and supporting student success.
A vacancy exists in the department for a Lecturer / Associate Lecturer to teach on the Extended Curriculum Programme.
The successful candidates will be responsible for the following key areas :
- Facilitate learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the department of Physics and Astronomy.
- Conduct research and publish on topics related to the department interest and expertise.
- Undertake undergraduate and / or postgraduate supervision.
- Undertake curriculum development and assessment.
- Undertake community engagement and outreach.
Minimum requirements for Lecturer
MSc in Physics or related fields and currently registered for a PhD with clear plans of completion.Demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.A record of successful postgraduate supervision at the honours level.Evidence of research output in the form of a research publication (s) in accredited journals.Minimum requirements for Associate Lecturer
BSc Honours in Physics and currently registered for a MSc with clear plans of completion.Demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate level.Advantageous criteria
Experience in ECP teaching.Demonstrated experience in technology-enhanced teaching and using sensors and data acquisition systems in undergraduate education.A proven track record of designing and implementing active learning activities.Competencies
