Job descriptionA diploma in Library and Information Science or equivalent qualification. At least two years' experience in an academic or special library environment. Technical experience (such as solving basic IT problems). Strong client- and service-oriented skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Strong computer proficiency, including sound knowledge of the Windows environment and a variety of computer software. Good interpersonal and teamwork skills. 'n Diploma in Biblioteek- en Inligtingkunde of 'n gelykwaardige kwalifikasie. Minstens twee jaar se ervaring in 'n akademiese of spesiale biblioteek. Tegniese ervaring (soos om basiese IT-probleme op te los). Sterk kliënt- en diensgeoriënteerde vaardighede. Goeie skriftelike en mondelinge kommunikasievaardighede. Sterk rekenaarvaardighede, met inbegrip van goeie kennis van die Windows-omgewing en 'n verskeidenheid rekenaarsagteware. Goeie interpersoonlike en spanwerkvaardighede. Experience of the ALMA integrated library system, especially the circulation module. Knowledge of engineering-specific databases. Duties / Responsibilities
- The incumbent is responsible for the circulation section of the Engineering and Forestry Library with all the related administrative duties attached to the Division.
- Providing general information service to clients.
- Assisting with interlibrary loan duties.
- Postings on social media and plasma screens.
- Various other general administrative tasks, e.g., circulation statistics.
