Job Title : Pre-Sales Technical Specialist (ASUS)

Location : Johannesburg, South Africa

Employment Type : Full-Time

Department : Product Team

Reports To : Country Product Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a Pre-Sales Technical Specialist to join our Product Team . This role is essential in supporting our internal sales teams by analyzing tender requirements, recommending the best-fit solutions from our product portfolio, and ensuring technical accuracy in all proposals. While primarily an internal role, you will also engage with distributors, resellers, and occasionally end-users to provide technical clarity and ensure alignment across the value chain.

You will also maintain close communication with our overseas head office to ensure product positioning, compliance, and technical updates are accurately reflected in local proposals.

Key Responsibilities

Tender Analysis : Review and interpret tender documents and RFPs to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for our product portfolio.

Solution Design : Recommend the most suitable products and configurations based on customer requirements and technical specifications.

Internal Sales Support : Work closely with the sales team to provide technical input for proposals, presentations, and solution documentation.

Stakeholder Engagement : Liaise with distributors, resellers, and occasionally end-users to clarify technical requirements and ensure solution alignment.

Head Office Coordination : Communicate regularly with our head office product teams for technical updates, product roadmaps, and compliance requirements.

Documentation : Prepare technical documentation, compliance matrices, and solution diagrams for proposals.

Market & Product Knowledge : Stay updated on IT trends, competitive products, and our brand’s product roadmap to provide informed recommendations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education (Preferred) : Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience : 3+ years in a pre-sales, technical consulting, or product specialist role within the IT sector.

Technical Knowledge : Strong understanding of IT hardware (PCs, laptops, servers), operating systems, and networking fundamentals.

Analytical Skills : Ability to interpret complex tender documents and translate them into actionable solutions.

Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with internal teams, distributors, and end users.

Certifications (Preferred) : CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified, or similar.
