What you'll do :

  • As Compliance and Human Resources Manager, you will be entrusted with balancing two core pillars : driving regional sales performance while championing best-in-class HR practices.
  • Your day-to-day will involve close collaboration with boutique teams and support office colleagues as you oversee recruitment processes, coach managers on performance improvement plans, conduct regular store audits for compliance assurance, and resolve operational challenges efficiently.
  • You will also play an instrumental role in fostering an inclusive workplace climate where respectful communication is prioritised across departments.
  • By implementing staff retention strategies and supporting ongoing training needs assessments, you will help shape career evolution pathways for team members.
  • Your ability to connect with employees at all levels will be essential in gathering feedback that informs continuous improvement efforts. Success in this role means not only meeting ambitious sales targets but also cultivating an environment where every team member feels valued, supported, and inspired to contribute towards the shared vision of excellence.
  • Oversee and manage sales performance across the region, ensuring that all regional sales targets are consistently achieved through effective monitoring and support.
  • Conduct regular coaching calls and meetings with managers to review progress, provide constructive feedback, and implement tailored strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Develop comprehensive coaching plans for sales teams aimed at enhancing both individual and collective productivity while fostering a culture of collaboration.
  • Monitor year-over-year growth metrics, identify areas requiring attention, and report findings to executive leadership with actionable recommendations.
  • Conduct thorough store audits to ensure that all sales operations adhere strictly to company policies, standards, and expectations.
  • Oversee the resolution of support tickets related to sales or operational issues, ensuring swift responses to client complaints and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate closely with other divisions and leadership teams to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and drive organisational success.
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle including screening candidates, conducting interviews, and headhunting for critical sales positions within the region.
  • Ensure timely completion of probation reviews for new hires, assessing their integration into company culture as well as their performance against set objectives.
  • Implement robust staff retention strategies by addressing conduct or performance issues promptly while maintaining strong engagement with stores to monitor employee satisfaction.

  • To excel as Compliance and Human Resources Manager, you will bring extensive experience gained from senior HR roles within target-oriented environments—ideally those rooted in luxury retail or similar sectors.
  • Your background should reflect deep involvement in talent management activities such as recruitment strategy design, onboarding processes optimisation, employee relations oversight, and succession planning.
  • A natural collaborator who values teamwork above all else, you possess exceptional interpersonal skills that allow you to nurture positive relationships across diverse groups.
  • Your approach is grounded in empathy; you understand how vital it is for employees at every level to feel heard and supported.
  • In addition to technical expertise around compliance frameworks and employment legislation, your analytical mindset enables you to interpret complex data sets relating to both people metrics and commercial outcomes.
  • You thrive when given responsibility for large-scale projects requiring careful coordination between multiple stakeholders—always keeping sight of the bigger picture while attending meticulously to detail.
  • Above all else, your passion lies in helping others grow; whether through coaching sessions or designing bespoke learning interventions tailored around individual aspirations.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred for this senior-level appointment.
  • Relevant HR certifications are highly desirable as they demonstrate your commitment to professional development within the field.
  • At least 8-10 years’ experience in human resources is essential, including no less than 5 years spent in a leadership or senior HR management capacity within a sales-driven organisation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing talent acquisition processes from end-to-end including headhunting for key roles within fast-paced environments.
  • Proven track record of implementing effective employee engagement initiatives alongside robust retention strategies that have delivered measurable results.
  • Comprehensive experience handling sales performance data coupled with advanced skills in coaching teams towards improved outcomes through structured development plans.
  • Exceptional relationship-building abilities enabling you to foster trust-based connections with boutique teams as well as central support functions.
  • Outstanding communication skills allowing you to provide clear feedback constructively while navigating challenging conversations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Strategic thinking capabilities that enable alignment between HR practices and broader commercial objectives within luxury retail settings.
  • Advanced proficiency using HR information systems (HRIS), CRM platforms, performance management tools, and reporting software relevant to modern HR operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of labour laws applicable within South Africa alongside familiarity with international luxury standards is highly advantageous.
