Overview
A vacancy exists for a Patient Services Manager , based at Life Fourways Hospital , reporting to Belinda De Meyer , Finance & Admin Manager .
The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and coordination of patient services resources, processes and operations to achieve the quality, growth and people objectives in order to ensure the optimization of the hospital's profitability.
Responsibilities
- Quality management and customer care by monitoring and improving quality metrics; managing data integrity and compliance to Life working procedures; developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.
- People management by demonstrating visible leadership in respect of Life values, operating models and strategies to support diversity and transformation; actively leading meetings and ensuring participation; recruiting quality staff to fill vacancies; providing direction and inspiration; managing training plans aligned with Life’s WSP requirements; managing staff performance; ensuring all transactional processing is complete for employee compensation and benefits; maintaining productive relationships with minimal IR issues; conducting exit interviews; promoting diversity and fair work-life balance for employee wellness.
- Billing by driving accurate and timely billing to achieve DSO and Shaka targets; managing bill auditing; ensuring compliance with clinical code of conduct for accurate interpretation of patient events.
- Contracts and funder rules by managing admissions to comply with funder rules; collecting outstanding co-payments; reducing and managing RSRT-related risks through patient-based data recommendations.
- Cash flow management by implementing pre-admission to account submission processes to achieve DSO targets and implementing cash management processes to prevent losses.
- Operational capabilities by managing and implementing PS business plans for optimal functioning.
- Governance and risk management by preparing and ensuring audit compliances; participating in risk management actions and supporting tip-off investigations.
Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Nursing, Physiotherapy, Clinical Associates, Paramedics as Critical Care Assistants or Emergency Care Practitioners or any other qualification covering Anatomy, Physiology, Pathophysiology and Microbiology as foundational courses.Case Management and Coding ExperienceMinimum of five years relevant private healthcare industry and proven leadership, change and people management experienceCurrent registration with the relevant professional / regulatory body (SANC)Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players; knowledge of current legislation; ability to learn medical terminology, CPT / ICD coding, technical and clinical concepts and patient services business processesUnderstanding of basic financial principles (budgets, credit management, planning)Computer proficiencyDriver’s license and ability to travelCompetencies
