Spar Group LimitedSouth AfricaJob category : Other Accounting, AuditingContract : PermanentRemuneration : Market RelatedEE position : YesIntroductionSPAR North Rand, a division of The SPAR Group Ltd., is recruiting an Accounts Payable Controller.PURPOSEThe purpose of the position is to control and monitor the achievement of performance targets by each team member, therefore enabling suppliers to receive payment timeously.KEY PERFORMANCE AREASSupervise the Dropshipment creditors payment team and ensure accurate and timeous processing of invoices and reconciliation of accounts.Supervision to ensure validation checks are performed when processing invoices.Ensure compliance and implementation of internal controls and procedures.Ensure VAT compliance.Review supplier reconciliations and ensure payments are made as per agreed terms with the relevant supplier (monthly, weekly, and daily payments).Check and sign adjustments / correction requests and ensure accurate and timeous processing thereof.Ensure that all set objectives are met (individual and team).Set performance targets for staff and ensure that they are achieved.Perform daily balancing of creditors ledger.Assist with month-end reporting.Prepare cash forecast for creditor payments.Ensure that all supplier queries are followed up timeously.Maintain and conduct grievance and disciplinary procedures when required.Manage staff performance and facilitate team development.Monitor, analyse, and effectively manage staff attendance and absenteeism.Ensure health of the creditors ledger.Liaise with suppliers and internal departments in relation to queries.Facilitate and conduct new suppliers on SPAR processes and systems.Ensure filing / archiving of all relevant documentation.Assist with internal and external audits.Data analysis.Assist in the management and improvement of the workflow in the department.Assist with departmental and business projects.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSGrade 12 with Maths and / or Accounting or equivalent qualification.Relevant tertiary qualification.High level of numerical competence.Minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory / managerial role.Ability to lead a teamputer skills necessary – Microsoft Word / Excel.Administrative orientation (enjoy administrative work).Ability to liaise professionally with suppliers and staff at all levels.Ability to work without supervision and meet strict deadlines.Accuracy and attention to detail is essential.The ability to work as part of a team.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.Previous reconciling experience would be advantageous.Knowledge of the SPAR Creditors system would be advantageous.SAP experience would be advantageous.SPAR North Rand is an equal opportunity employer.
