The Role : Workshop Foreman
As Workshop Foreman, you will oversee all aspects of the workshop, ensuring the smooth and efficient maintenance, servicing, and repair of vehicles and equipment. You will manage a team of mechanics and artisans, maintain high operational standards, and ensure safety and compliance across the workshop.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate all workshop activities, including servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance
Manage and lead a team of artisans, mechanics, and workshop staff to meet productivity and quality standards
Oversee maintenance of agricultural equipment, trucks, utility vehicles (bakkies), and related machinery
Ensure effective operation of paint shops and spray booths
Schedule and allocate tasks, monitor progress, and maintain accurate job cards and service records
Enforce compliance with safety standards, policies, and procedures
Collaborate with the Technical Engineering Manager to plan and prioritise maintenance needs
Manage spare parts inventory and drive cost-effective workshop operations
About You
Qualified Diesel Mechanic (trade-tested)
Minimum 5 years of experience in a foreman / supervisory role within agricultural or industrial operations
Strong technical knowledge of agricultural equipment, trucks, and utility vehicles
Exposure to paint shops and spray booth operations (essential)
Proven leadership and people-management skills
Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
Proficient in both English and Afrikaans (inherent requirement)
Hands-on, detail-oriented, and practical approach
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Commitment to safety and quality in all aspects of work
