We are seeking a Junior Inventory & Stock Controller to support daily inventory operations across the warehouse and production floor. The ideal candidate should be reliable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn, assisting the storekeeper with stock checks, issuing, system updates, and record-keeping.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily receiving, counting, labeling, and storing of materials (raw material, consumables, spares, packaging material).
- Issue stock items to departments based on approved requisitions and update manual / system records accordingly.
- Support with cycle counts, monthly stock-takes, and inventory reconciliation exercises.
- Monitor stock levels of fast-moving items (like tapes, gloves, bearings, inks, cleaning agents) and flag low stock situations.
- Ensure storeroom areas are clean, well-organized, and compliant with safety protocols.
- Match delivery notes with purchase orders and help with filing documents and scanning.
- Tag new inventory with barcodes or handwritten labels.
- Coordinate with buyers and the factory team for any urgent shortages or returns.
- Learn and update basic ERP / inventory software or spreadsheets as required.
Requirements
Matric or NQF Level 4 (Warehouse or Stock Control certification is a plus).5–10 years of experience in a warehouse, inventory, or store assistant role (preferably in a manufacturing environment).Basic understanding of inventory and stock control processes.Comfortable doing physical work and working in a factory environment.Strong attention to detail and basic numeric literacy.Basic knowledge of Excel or inventory software is advantageous.Good attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to take instruction.#J-18808-Ljbffr
