ROLE SUMMARY :
Inspired is seeking to appoint an experienced and dynamic Head of Boarding to lead our welcoming boarding community at Reddford House Northcliff.The Head of Boarding is at the heart of our school’s residential life — ensuring that every boarder enjoys a safe, nurturing, and enriching home-away-from-home. You will oversee the smooth day-to-day management of the boarding house, guiding a dedicated team of staff and ensuring students’ wellbeing, academic progress, and personal growth are always prioritised.This role offers an exciting opportunity for an empathetic and organised leader who thrives in a student-centred environment and is passionate about supporting young people to reach their full potential in all aspects of school life.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Lead, support, and develop a team of boarding staff, fostering a positive and professional culture.Oversee the daily running of the boarding house, ensuring a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.Promote student wellbeing, positive behaviour, and a strong sense of community among boarders.Build strong, proactive relationships with parents, students, and staff, ensuring open communication.Work closely with academic teams to support student progress and balance between study and wellbeing.Ensure all health, safety, and safeguarding standards are maintained and regularly reviewed.Oversee boarding facilities, cleanliness, and maintenance in collaboration with operations teams.Plan and coordinate engaging weekend and after-hours activities that enhance the student experience.Manage travel logistics, leave (exeat) requests, and administrative records efficiently.Uphold the ethos and values of Reddford House Northcliff, ensuring excellence in every aspect of boarding life.THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE :
A relevant degree and minimum five years’ leadership experience, ideally in a boarding or pastoral setting.A strong understanding of child development and a genuine commitment to student welfare.Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.The ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team effectively.A calm, proactive, and empathetic approach to managing challenges.Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and during school holidays as required.Education / Teaching Jobs jobs
