The Key Account Manager works within Amazon Vendor services (AVS), a B2B service that helps strategic vendor partners grow their business with Amazon. As a Key Account Manager, you will gain 360‑degree exposure to all e‑commerce areas that directly affect long‑term and short‑term strategic growth metrics for key vendors. You will act as a consultant driving success growth metrics on a daily basis, ensuring the vendor’s experience of AVS demonstrates our customer obsession. The role is strategic, operational and tactical, working with internal teams and management to grow and improve the vendor’s success at Amazon.
Key job responsibilities
- Core Service : Use your knowledge in deep data analytics to identify industry opportunities and provide recommendations to improve overall business performance via Amazon programs, driving long‑term benefit for Amazon and the vendor.
- Relationship management : Serve as the primary liaison between the Vendor and Amazon, ensuring all material and interactions meet a standard that earns trust and builds long‑term partnerships.
- Availability & Operational Excellence : Drive supply‑chain operational excellence initiatives by optimizing existing processes, managing defects, lead times, and stock to ensure availability for customers.
- Promotion & Funding : Recommend marketing and advertising campaigns to promote new products, increase traffic and improve conversion; plan, implement and manage promotional activities for Amazon events.
- Ranging : Grow range by managing the launch of new products, expanding local range availability and improving discoverability on the platform.
- Store data quality management : Deliver a good customer journey on Amazon through regular online store checks, competitor benchmarking, enhanced content creation, quality product visibility and accurate product descriptions.
- Problem solving : Detail and implement a clear action plan enabling vendor growth under AVS; adapt services to meet vendor and Amazon business demands.
- Project management : Deliver projects that add value to the vendor and / or Amazon community.
- Team player : Actively participate in Amazon team‑led initiatives that advance the progression of the Amazon store and customer experience in South Africa.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or minimum 3‑year Diploma (NQF 6)Minimum 2 years of experience in Account Management / Customer Development, Buying, Business Management, Business Consulting, Project Management, Financial Analysis and / or Marketing.Preferred Qualifications
