Overview
An established and socially responsible hospitality group based in Hout Bay is seeking a passionate and community-focused Community Liaison Officer to join their team.
This role is ideal for someone who understands the importance of sustainable development, local empowerment, and positive community relations — and who is committed to building lasting partnerships that benefit both the business and the surrounding community.
The successful candidate will serve as the key point of contact between the organisation and local communities, ensuring open communication, trust, and meaningful collaboration on social impact initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local community leaders, organisations, and stakeholders
- Support and coordinate the company’s B-BBEE initiatives , including socio-economic and skills development programs
- Assist with community upliftment projects, donations, and volunteer programs
- Represent the brand in community forums, events, and stakeholder meetings
- Collaborate with HR and PR teams to ensure alignment between social initiatives and company values
- Prepare progress reports, monitor project outcomes, and ensure compliance with B-BBEE and CSR guidelines
- Assist with public relations and communication materials related to community engagement
Qualifications
Degree or diploma in Social Sciences, Community Development, Public Relations, or Psychology (advantageous)Strong knowledge of B-BBEE principles , especially relating to social and enterprise developmentExcellent interpersonal and communication skills — both verbal and writtenCulturally sensitive and empathetic, with strong ties to the local communityExperience in stakeholder engagement, community outreach, or public relationsStrong organisational and reporting abilitiesMust be based in or near Hout Bay and familiar with the local areaWhat We Offer
