This position will primarily provide support to the Head of Services SBU in driving development initiatives aimed at film and television industry.
The support will entail :
• Guiding internal IDC policy formulation
• Conduct industry research and represent IDC in industry forums (stakeholder management)
• Leading industry development initiatives
• Sourcing and evaluating transactions for consideration by the investment committee
- A relevant commercial Bachelor’s degree
- Further post-graduate qualifications will be an advantage
- 5-8 years’ experience in the Audio-Visual Sector
- Previous experience analysing all technical and marketing aspects of a deal / project – due diligence experience
- Knowledge of sector legislation, policy, legal and regulatory frameworks
- Sound grasp of how the audio-visual and media sector value chain functions.
- Sound grasp of how the businesses in the motion picture and media sector operate;
- Sound grasp of technologies employed in the audio-visual and media sector;
- Extensive experience and knowledge in entertainment, television and film development, original series production, along with strong relationships within the industry
- Passionate about pop culture, movies, television shows and the evolving digital industry
- Detailed analysis and interpretation of financial statements;
- Ability to analyze a financial model / recoupment waterfalls.

- Conduct Basic Assessments of applications
- Conducting due diligence / Investigation of transactions in the Financial, Marketing and Technical disciplines;
- Structure, negotiate and manage deals involving the development and production of programs (scripted and non-scripted series, made for TV and feature length films and other projects assigned by the unit head as applicable
- Review budgets, production materials and other information relating to the funding of programs
- Develop and maintain client relationships;
- Oversee the process of content production from concept to delivery
- Establish and maintain effective relations with broadcasters, independent producers and industry bodies
- Conceptualize marketing strategies to maximize viability of content funded by the IDC Contribute to strategy development of audio-visual sector;
- Be part of the implementation team for strategic projects;
- Supporting development of business opportunities for the Business Unit within the sector
- Perform any additional duties as reasonably assigned by the line manager
