Learning and Development Manager is a leadership role within the Learning and Development function, focused specifically on enhancing the skills and capabilities of current and future managers within an organization. This position plays a strategic role in building effective leadership pipelines and aligning management training initiatives with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement management and leadership development strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Identify current and future leadership competency needs.
- Implement and management development programs to build internal leadership capacity.
- Program Design and Delivery
- Design, curate, or source leadership development programs (e.g., first-time manager training, executive coaching, high-potential programs).
- Oversee delivery through internal facilitators or external vendors.
- Needs Assessment
- Conduct assessments to identify skill gaps among current managers and leadership candidates.
- Performance Evaluation
- Measure the effectiveness of training initiatives using KPIs, feedback, and performance data.
- Continuously improve programs based on outcomes and feedback.
- Succession Planning
- Partner with HR and senior leadership to develop talent pipelines for key leadership roles.
- Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with department heads, executives, and external consultants.
- Advocate for leadership development initiatives at the executive level.
- Coaching & Mentoring Programs
- Launch or manage mentorship and coaching initiatives for leadership development.
