Job description

We are looking for a charismatic, skilled, and confident Chef de Partie (Oven Station) to join our high-energy kitchen team. This role is unique – you’ll be stationed at our open brick oven, preparing roasted and oven-finished dishes in full view of our guests. You must be comfortable interacting with customers, maintaining a high standard of presentation, and contributing to the vibrant front-of-house experience that defines our African themed concept.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Operate and maintain brick ovens to prepare roasted and oven-cooked dishes with precision.
  • Work at the open oven station, directly visible to and engaging with guests.
  • Cook, finish, and plate dishes in real time during service with attention to detail and flair.
  • Maintain cleanliness, temperature control, and safety standards across all oven equipment.
  • Interact confidently with guests at the bar or oven counter – explaining dishes, answering questions, and adding to the guest experience with professionalism and personality.
  • Coordinate with the bar and service staff for smooth timing and order execution.
  • Ensure consistency and quality of all dishes coming from the oven station.
  • Monitor food storage and rotation specific to the oven station (e.g. meats, vegetables, breads).
  • Assist with mise en place, stock levels, and ordering specific to the oven station.
  • Take pride in personal grooming, uniform, and guest-facing presentation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CDP working with brick ovens, roasting, or wood-fired cooking.
  • Strong technical skills in temperature management, roasting techniques, and open kitchen performance.
  • Comfortable being front-of-house, speaking with guests, and working in a visible, high-pressure setting.
  • Outgoing, confident, and well-groomed with good presentation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic kitchen environment with poise and focus.
  • Passion for bold flavors and African-inspired dishes is a plus.
  • Flexible with working hours, including weekends and evenings.
  • Any nationality welcome – personality, skill, and professionalism are key.
