About the Role
A well-established organisation is seeking a professional and well-spoken Receptionist to manage front office duties and switchboard operations. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for visitors and callers, and will also provide administrative support to various departments to ensure smooth day-to-day office operations.
This is a vital role that requires strong interpersonal skills, excellent time management, and a welcoming, service-oriented attitude.
Key Responsibilities
Front Office & Switchboard Management
- Professionally answer and manage all incoming calls across the group
- Take and relay accurate messages to relevant team members
- Greet and assist walk-in visitors in a courteous and professional manner
- Maintain a tidy and welcoming reception area
Administrative Support
Maintain and organise office filing systems (employee documents, permits, etc.)Schedule and coordinate boardroom bookings; send out calendar invitesAssist with permit and wayleave applications as requiredProvide data capturing and general administrative support when neededMinimum Requirements
Grade 12 / Senior CertificateAt least 1 year of experience in a similar receptionist or administrative support roleStrong command of English and another South African language (bilingual essential)Good telephone etiquette and strong interpersonal skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)Professional demeanour with a strong sense of responsibilityGood organisational, time management, and problem-solving abilitiesAble to work independently and under pressureFriendly, approachable, and confident communicator on all levels
