Our client in the Aviation Sector is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Bookkeeper who (guided by ones direct manager) is responsible for all aspects of financial management, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures and builds the capacity of the companys finance team by overseeing the day to day work of the finance department. Who is able to prepare, compute, manage, research and analyse all accounting data, in order to provide quantitative information on performance, financial position, and cash flows of our businesses, hereby undertaking all aspects of the financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures for all the companies.
Requirements :
- Preference of a Degree or Senior certificate / diploma in accounting
- Proficiency in Sage Evolution
- Solid experience as a senior bookkeeper / accountant
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Own transportation
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to think strategically
- Strong client-facing and communication skills
- Advanced troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills
- Proficiency in English and in MS Office

Duties and Responsibilities :
A - Management
Manage all accounting operations from transactional level to reporting based on accounting principlesEnsure that accounts are finalised monthly up to Trial Balance level and analyse all relevant expenses and GL accounts within deadlinesEnsure that both the Accounts payable and receivable age analysis are reconciled and cleaned up.Reconciling the stock recon monthly to the General ledgerProcess stock adjustments or write offs as signed off as per DOABalance sheet reconsOverview of monthly expenses against budget and ensure variances can be explained.Support and conduct month-end and year-end close processEnsure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting accuracy on allocation and postings.Keep information confidential and secureKeep up with financial policies, regulation and legislationLiaise with the Auditors during the financial year end auditAssist with key financial and systems projectsResponsible for preparing and submitting the VAT reconciliations and follow up on any SARS VAT audits.Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements relating to financial control, financial management and accountingEnsure that all balance sheet reconciliations are produced on an accurate and timely basis to include bank reconciliations, debtors, creditors and inter-company accountsIntercompany accounts reconciliation and offsets on a monthly basis.Ensure implementation and adherence to finance policies, procedures and systems across all teamsThe required stipulations, interactions and requirements for the Companies related to the relevant GMs, as required on an ad hoc basisB. Funds Management
Forecast cash flow positions on a monthly basis based on expected in and out flows.Use planning and required actions to mitigate financial risks related to the financial requirements of the companies and the companies cash resourcesC. Budgeting
Develop annual budgets in collaboration with the Managing Directors of each operationReport to management on variances from the established budget, and the reasons for those variances post review from the CFO.Engage in ongoing cost reduction analyses in all areas of the companyCreate additional analyses and reports as requested by management#J-18808-Ljbffr
