Requirements :
- A minimum of 7 - 10 years’ experience in an FMCG environment with at least 3 years in a management role
- Valid drivers' license
- Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Good Project Management Skills
- Reliable ability to work & make decisions without constant supervision
- Knowledge of Food Legislation, GMP, HACCP, CPA, R146 compliance
- A team player with great interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and highly initiative
- Patient and Tolerant
- Able to interact at all levels of the organization
- Flexibility to travel to different factory sites & occasionally work after hours to ensure trials are completed.

Involved in all new projects through :
Creating and developing new products or processes.TroubleshootingSourcing the most suitable application according to brief :Identify supplier.Request samples and pricing.Normal trial and travel procedure.Tasting / product evaluation sessionsSourcing competitor products for competitor product evaluationOccasionally engaging with customer & consumer complaints to assist in resolving technical related issues.Involved in all re-engineering through :
Benchmarking for cost removal purposesQuality and CostFit for PurposeAdditional Strategic NPD responsibilities :
Ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction by ensuring there is quick concise engagement and a detailed action plan on project delivery.Developing and implementing strategies to achieve project and business goals.Work in conjunction with cross functional teams at Head Office and the factory sites to ensure the delivery of products on time and in accordance with both the Rainbow quality standards as well as the Regulations encompassing Food products.Provide technical and advisory support to internal and external customers and stakeholders.Participate in project team meetings to lead the development of products and provide insight and identify bottlenecks and risks to the project lead.Ensure strong alignment with the sales and technical functions at a national and regional basis with the goal to align the entire value chain.Analyse information to ensure best practices are being adhered to.Provide technical expertise in meetings with Production, Supply Chain Planning, Sales team and external suppliers.Provide technical expertise for the compilation of training material and Best Operating Practices to ensure knowledge transfer once products are ready for launch and handover to operations teams.Identity opportunities for cost savings within the scope of product development or within the operating practices.Guide the team to ensure that all legislative standards are achieved and the timeous completion of necessary Rainbow / Customer documents to ensure compliance to product quality and ease of handover to operations.Chair regular meetings to ensure that action points are defined and delivered upon.Evaluating the effectiveness of implemented solutions and making recommendations.Manage and Support to Packaging Technologist :
Projects – (trial, travel and hand over)Assist with artwork approvals, obtaining Grids from suppliers and overall packaging checkpoints on the WebCenter systemWorking with the project lead to ascertain the best fit for purpose packaging requirements for the product.Ensure supplier audits take place.Ensure all paperwork (risk assessment, suppliers’ questionnaires, specifications, certificates) updated for all audits.All die lines and artwork changes communicated in timePallet configurations to be determine and communicated.Non- conformance raised, investigated, closed off.Daily involvement regarding quality, packaging efficiencies at factory.Location : South Africa
