Operations Controller / Midrand
Reports to : The Senior Operations Controller
- Opening Customer Files for all Active Shipments
- Capturing on TBS customer instructions received via email only.
- Ensure pricing is as per approved customer price list
- Once off shipments to be quoted separately and in accordance with management approval
- Ensure all import documentation is in order
- Ensure all customer documentation and relevant shipment details are received including shipment reference numbers.
- Ensure shipment is factored into planning.
- Ensure timeous execution of shipments as per planning master data & customer requirements
- Tracking of shipments via GPS & Driver tracking
- Updating Customers of shipment status periodically via email and via mobile after hours.
- Effective handover of shipments daily to Nightshift for shipments that go beyond the working day.
- Escalation of shipment delays to be done timeously to ensure delays are managed and flagged
- File closing is upon delivery of shipment and receipt of original delivery notes /
- 24 hour Customer query resolution (At Customer or internal Finance Level)
- Handle complete file from A-Z (Road, Sea, Air, and Rail)
- Handle LCL Bulk & Break Bulk shipments
- Track & Trace shipments : from Depos / Airlines / Shipping Lines / Transnet
- Manage drivers and their deliverables via telephone and tracking software.
- Ensure drivers escalate all non-conformances to operations office.
- Ensure driver validity of Licences, Training, PDPs & Permits
- Ensure vehicle validity of Fleet Licences, Equipment Validity etc
- Daily Costing of files and handing over to the team leader for verification & approval
- Prepare loading instructions for drivers and sub-contractors. Write and issue waybills.
- Managing daily deliverables of sub-contracted transporters to ensure customer requirements are met and in accordance with quality standards.
- Professionally Managing incoming and outgoing calls
- Liaison with POD team to ensure all PODS are received in full and on time by drivers and suppliers.
Requirements
