The Change Management Specialist will report directly to the Senior Manager : Project Management Office and form part of the Office of the Chief Operations Officer. Overview
The Change Management Specialist is responsible for supporting the Senior Manager : Project Management Office in delivering organisational change initiatives in line with best practices and the programme management model.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, review, integration, and execution of organisational change strategies aligned with best practices and the programme management model.
- Lead the implementation of change impact assessments, readiness assessments, and stakeholder analysis; identify risks, impacts, resistance points and opportunities.
- Interpret and provide expert opinions on programme change based on impact assessment outcomes.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders to ensure trust, alignment, and commitment.
- Anticipate and address stakeholder needs, concerns, and adoption to drive sustained support for the change initiative.
- Develop analytical and integrated change management plans and reports to define goals, metrics, and advise on decision-making.
- Coach and support senior leadership and executives to lead the change.
- Guide Change Agents in advocating for the change initiative.
- Deliver clear, timely, and tailored messages through diverse channels to inform, engage, and inspire stakeholders.
- Adapt communication methods to reinforce understanding and commitment to the change.
- Develop and communicate post-implementation change strategy and sustainability plans for programme stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal culture resources to align change activities with organisational culture.
- Produce actionable deliverables for change management, including communications, training, and resistance management plans.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum a 3-year Degree / Diploma (NQF level 6) in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Organisational Development, Project Management or similar. Postgraduate qualification is beneficial.Prosci Change Management Practitioner Certification is required.5–8 years' experience in implementing change management.Strong understanding of project management and practical application of Change Management methodologies (Prosci ADKAR).Experience with Change Impact Assessments, Readiness Assessments, and Resistance Management.Proven experience in stakeholder management, business engagement, and relationship building.Strong project management acumen with ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.Exposure to risk management, stakeholder management, project management, and data analysis.Ability to analyse data to assess training needs and measure training effectiveness.Experience with IT system implementations and business process re-engineering is advantageous.Understanding of the medical schemes industry and Merger and Acquisitions integration is advantageous.Other information
