Job Purpose
To oversee the company’s financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books across accounts payable and receivable, payroll, daily financial entries, reconciliations, and related reporting functions. This role ensures financial integrity, supports audit readiness, and contributes to efficient financial operations.Minimum Qualifications & Skills
Matric (Grade 12)Diploma in Accounting or BookkeepingProficiency in SAPAdvanced Microsoft Excel skillsExperience Required
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a bookkeeping / accounting roleExperience in the seafood industry is advantageousPersonal Attributes & Competencies

Perform bank reconciliations and review / sign-off at month-endProcess petty cash transactions and perform monthly reconciliationsHandle import payments including Letters of Credit (LCs), FBCI, OTT, and related correspondence with the bankProcess transactions across various accounts : factoring, Nedlib, Call, Current, Dollar, EuroProcess weekly wages and related journal entries (as backup)Perform Nedbank transfersManage international supplier accounts : creation, reconciliation, and communicationPrepare and send import evidence for OTT payments to NedbankReview, verify and process payment batchesPost and reconcile month-end journals, including salaries and fixed assetsReview and manage open purchase orders (POs)Process client rebatesPerform and submit VAT reconciliations to Finance Manager and SARSReconcile Camara accountPerform monthly analysis on City of Cape Town (COCT) charges and Repairs & MaintenanceAdminister cell phone contracts, staff recoveries, and terminationsManage monthly accruals : fuel, credit cards, storage, etc.Run depreciation and manage fixed asset registerCapture and reconcile shop accountsReconcile intercompany loan accountsEnsure SARS Deferment accounts are paid timeouslyAssist with credit applicationsSupport Finance Manager with ad hoc tasks and financial reporting as requiredAccounting / Financial Services jobs
