The role of Regional Banking Head is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight of the region’s private banking. This role is responsible for driving growth, profitability, and out of the ordinary client experience across all segments within the business. This includes developing, driving, and directing sales, client service, marketing, and operations within the regional teams in executing the national and regional business strategies.

Key Responsibilities :
Develop and execute the private banking strategy in alignment with overall business objectives
Drive business growth through client acquisition and retentionIdentify new opportunities through leading at a strategic and tactical levelEnsure collaboration with a wide and broad stakeholder networkDriving penetration and performance (including marketing activities)Client & Relationship Management :Build and maintain trusted relationships with UHNW and HNW clients
Oversee collaboration across the client ecosystem for maximization of banking opportunitiesEnsure superior (out of the ordinary) client experience and service standards across all touchpoints.Operational & Financial Management :Manage annual budgets, financial targets, and performance metrics for the private banking division
Manage cost efficiency and deliver sustainable profitabilityOversee credit, investment, and operational risk within the businessEnsure appropriate resourcing in line with budget and quantify market opportunitiesPeople & Culture :Responsible for the development and performance management of individuals in the team
Lead, inspire, and mentor employeesFoster a culture of collaboration, performance, and client centricityDrive capability development, succession planning, and retention of top talentEnsure an inclusive culture aligned to our clients’ valuesGovernance, Risk & Compliance :Work closely with operations, audit, and compliance functions to maintain a sound control environment.

A minimum of 10 years’ Private Banking or any related banking services experienceRelevant qualificationAbility to represent Western Cape Banking at both a regional ops and national banking ops levelLeadership capabilityStrategic abilityA proven track record of delivery and high performance
