Job descriptionAdministrative law Legal interpretation International air (aviation) law Public international law including international humanitarian law and international criminal law; Conducting academic scholarly research; Engaging with the community through teaching, supervision and research that is embedded in and responsive to the African and South African social context; Having an in-depth understanding of own area of specialisation to enable development of new knowledge, innovation and understanding within the field; Supervising research students; Mentoring students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels; Academic administration and management; Performing other duties as delegated by Head of the Department LLM (preferably by full dissertation) in one of the abovementioned fields; Relevant tertiary teaching experience will be a strong recommendation; Accredited quality publication / s will be a strong recommendation; Evidence of community engagement being embedded in the candidate's research and / or teaching will be a strong recommendation; Relevant academic administration experience will be a strong recommendation. LLD / PhD degree in one of the abovementioned fields; At least five years’ tertiary teaching experience; 8 accredited publications in peer-reviewed journals of which three should have been published in the three years preceding the year of application; Conference papers delivered; Evidence of successful supervision of at least research master’s degrees or coursework master’s mini-dissertations will be a strong recommendation; Evidence of community engagement; Proven record of academic administration and academic citizenship.
