Overview
Wasion City of Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa — Human Resources Manager (South Africa). This role supports the newly established electricity meters manufacturing plant and serves as a key strategic partner to business leaders, connecting the local factory with the overseas HQ to shape the company’s people strategy and support growth from its early stages.
Key Responsibilities
- General HR Operations & Advisory : Provide expert HR support across all levels of management; guide and advise on labour legislation and HR best practices; maintain effective HR administration and documentation.
- Policies, Compliance & Governance : Draft and implement HR policies and procedures; identify compliance risks and recommend policy improvements; ensure adherence to labour legislation (LRA, BCEA, EE Act, etc.).
- HR Projects & Change Management : Lead strategic HR projects and change initiatives; support restructuring and transformation processes; drive continuous improvement in HR practices.
- Performance & Talent Management : Develop departmental goals and establish KPIs / KPAs for performance management; oversee performance management cycles; support management on monthly performance reviews; identify training needs and support succession planning.
- Recruitment & Onboarding : Responsible for sourcing, interviews, onboarding, and employee induction; ensure timely and accurate documentation for new hires; oversee payroll administration, compliance, and reporting; manage employee benefits, bonuses, and statutory submissions (UIF, EMP201 / 501, etc.); registration & termination of staff on uFiling; ensure accurate reconciliations and payroll-related query resolution.
- Employee Relations : Handle disciplinary matters, hearings, and conflict resolution; represent the company at the CCMA; maintain a healthy employee-management relationship.
- HR Reporting & Analytics : Compile and present HR metrics and dashboards; analyse HR data to support decision-making and planning.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Minimum : Honours degree in HRM, HRD, or Organizational Psychology (NQF 8).Advantageous : Master’s degree (NQF 9).Experience : 5+ years HR generalist experience; 3+ years in a senior HRBP role; strong working knowledge of SA labour legislation and HR governance.Experience with HRIS systems and MS Office Suite.Exposure to manufacturing is essential.Strong communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills; project management and change facilitation capabilities; detail-oriented with high accuracy and accountability; ability to manage complexity and work under pressure; ethical leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.Advantageous background : Experience in multinational companies; working experience in office administration support.Seniority level
