Claims Consultant (First Notice of Loss) at Guardrisk. The FNOL Claims Consultant is responsible for registering new claims received from brokers and appointed service providers within the SLA. This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Claims Intake : Receive new claims from the designated mailbox and register claims within the SLA.
- Service Provider Appointments : Use available information at registrations stage to appoint service providers.
- Data Verification : Verify essential information such as policy details, incident date / time, incident address, loss description, and contact information.
- Data Entry and Documentation : Accurately enter claim details into the Ski system and ensure information is complete and consistent for processing.
- Initial Assessment : Appoint relevant service providers and confirm cover when information is available; identify potential red flags (fraud, coverage issues).
- Coordination : Route claims to appropriate claims technicians or departments based on type and severity; collaborate with other teams as needed.
- Compliance : Handle claims in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Follow-Up : Obtain missing information or documentation from claimants.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) : Ensure accurate data entry, number of claims registered per day / week, and compliance with standards.
Qualifications
Diploma or equivalent (required)NQF Level 4 qualification in insurance1–2 years of experience in customer service, insurance, or claims handling (preferred)Competencies
Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication with claimants and internal teams.Customer Service : Strong orientation with the ability to handle stressful situations empathetically.Attention to Detail : High accuracy in data entry and documentation.Problem-Solving : Ability to quickly assess situations and make decisions.Time Management : Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.Technical Skills : Proficiency in using claims systems, Microsoft Office, and other relevant tools.Enquiries
