Role Description

This is a Contract / Full Time role for a DB2 Administrator located in the City of Johannesburg, with some work-from-home flexibility.

The DB2 Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining DB2 databases, performing regular database backups, and ensuring database security.

Other tasks include monitoring database performance, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing database configurations.

The DB2 Administrator will also be involved in upgrading database software, implementing disaster recovery solutions, and working closely with development teams to support database-related activities.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in managing and maintaining DB2 databases
• Experience with database backup, recovery, and security practices
• Database performance monitoring and optimization skills
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience in database software upgrades and implementations
• Knowledge of disaster recovery solutions
• Ability to work collaboratively with development teams
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Relevant certifications in database management are a plus
