My client a leading retailer with offices in Montague Gardens, Cape Town requires an experienced and qualified IT and Desktop Technician to join their team.
Main purpose of the job
The IT & Desktop Technician is responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware, software, and network systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. This role includes installing, configuring, and upgrading computer systems, managing user access and security, and supporting end-users with IT-related issues. The technician will also assist with system updates, backups, and asset management while ensuring compliance with company IT policies and security protocols.
Requirements
- Grade 12 ESSENTIAL
- A+ certificate.
- At least 5+ years experience in the IT industry, doing desktop & software support.
- Experience with a large Retail company will secure
- Drivers licence and willing to travel to stores
- Fluent in English & Afrikaans.
- Experience in and knowledge of MS SQL is a HUGE advantage
- Experience in and knowledge of Linux is a HUGE advantage.
- MCSE Certificate is an added advantage.
