Role Purpose / Business Unit : To effectively manage and support the implementation of the education ecosystem projects, including the scaling of Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres, the Youth Academy programme, and psycho-social support initiatives in schools. The role ensures strategic alignment, operational efficiency, and measurable impact across all education-related CSI interventions.
Responsibilities
- Programme Management : Lead the end-to-end management of the Early Childhood Development (ECD) programme, including oversight of infrastructure maintenance and operational delivery.
- Volunteer and learner Coordination : Recruit, place, and manage psycho-social support professionals in Schools of Excellence; recruit and ensure placement of ICT coordinators across ECDs, SoEs, and NPOs; recruit learners for the Youth Academy programme. Liaise with service providers and strategic partners to ensure effective programme execution.
- Governance and Compliance : Ensure all programmes adhere to due diligence, compliance, and governance standards, in alignment with Vodacom’s policies and frameworks.
- Budget and Performance Monitoring : Assist with monitoring budgets across all education ecosystem activities, ensuring accurate and timely spend and financial accountability. Collaborate with the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) specialist to assess programme impact and drive continuous improvement.
- Strategic Communication : Coordinate with the Marketing and PR teams to support purpose-driven campaigns that amplify the visibility and impact of education-related initiatives.
Ideal candidate
Matric essentialRelevant 3-year degree or diploma in Development Studies, Social Studies or related area3-5 years of relevant experience with managing projects timeously (essential)Skills : Project planning and management, excellent communication, strategic thinking, partnership developmentCore competencies, knowledge, and experience
Programme and Project Management : Ability to plan, implement, and oversee multiple education-related initiatives (ECDs, Youth Academy, psycho-social support, ICT training); skilled in managing timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder coordination.Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Building : Strong interpersonal skills to engage with service providers, schools, ECD owners, NPOs, and internal teams; ability to build trust and maintain long-term partnerships.Governance, Compliance, and Risk Management : Knowledge of Vodacom’s governance frameworks and ability to apply due diligence across programmes; skilled in identifying and mitigating risks related to programme delivery and stakeholder engagement.Budget and Financial Management : Competence in tracking budgets and monitoring spend.Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) : Understanding of M&E principles and ability to collaborate with specialists to assess programme impact and effectiveness.Strategic Communication and Campaign Coordination : Ability to work with marketing teams to align programme messaging with broader purpose-driven campaigns; strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and stakeholder updates.Benefits and remuneration
