Job description5+ years commercial underwriting experience (brokerage level essential). Fully accredited and fit & proper as an Authorised Representative under FAIS. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy. Exposure to the following systems will be a major advantage : Ilanga / Pursuit, Tial, MMX, & FSP Hub. Good written and verbal communication skills. Strong numeracy and analytical ability. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Competitive remuneration package based on experience. About the Role : We are seeking an experienced Commercial Underwriter to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwriting and servicing of commercial lines policies.
- Reviewing, analysing, and structuring insurance solutions to meet client needs.
- Ensuring compliance with FAIS, POPIA, and internal brokerage standards.
- Preparing quotations, renewals, policy schedules, and endorsements.
- Communicating effectively with insurers, clients, and colleagues to resolve queries and finalise placements.
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting using brokerage systems.
