Qualifications and experience required :
A National Diploma in Environmental Health, B. Tech in Environmental Health will be an advantage.Registration as an Environmental Health Practitioner with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.A valid Code B driver’s licence.Six years’ relevant work experience with at least two years at supervisory level.Job purpose :
Planning, controlling and coordinating the implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting sequences and outcomes associated with plans and programs designed to accomplish key service delivery objectives with respect to Environmental Health Services through the coordination of operations associated with the enforcement of laws and by-laws and maintaining the health and safety of the public in answer to the Municipality’s constitutional and other statutory obligations to ensure an environment not detrimental to human life / health, to prevent and abate environmental health nuisances and hazards and to secure the basic human rights to health of all citizens and visitors in answer to the demands of the Integrated Development Plan and the Healthy Cities approach, also performing related planning, administrative, budgetary and personnel functions.As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, medical examination, security vetting and psychometric assessment.Fringe benefits will include membership of a Retirement Fund, Medical Aid Scheme, Group Life Assurance Scheme, participation in a Housing Subsidy and Car Schemes (subject to the conditions of the various Schemes), and normal leave and sick leave benefits.Security / Safety jobs
