Financial Manager - Commodities

Our client in the agriculture sector is on the look out for an experienced and driven Financial Manager to oversee and optimize financial operations within a dynamic commodities division. This role offers the opportunity to lead financial planning, reporting, and risk management initiatives while supporting strategic business growth.

Key Responsibilities :

Manage full accounting function up to balance sheet for multiple entities.

Oversee financial reporting , budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Administer foreign currency transactions , including reconciliations and FX risk management.

Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and statutory requirements (VAT, EMP, tax submissions).

Lead and mentor a finance team , providing guidance and ensuring accuracy in all processes.

Prepare management reports, board packs, and ad hoc analyses for strategic decision-making.

Monitor internal controls and assist with audits to mitigate financial and operational risks.

Support treasury and cash flow management to optimize liquidity.

Coordinate intercompany reconciliations and consolidations .

Requirements :

BCompt / BCom Accounting or equivalent; SAICA completed or in progress.

Minimum 57 years experience in financial management, preferably with multi-entity oversight.

Strong knowledge of foreign currency management, international finance transactions, and hedging .

Excellent Excel and financial systems skills (e.g., SAP, Sage, IFS, Caseware).

Experience with budgeting, costing, and financial reporting .

Proven leadership and team management capabilities .

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
