We’re looking for a friendly, organised and animal-loving Front Shop Assistant to be the face of our veterinary practice. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with people and pets, thrives in a busy environment, and pays close attention to detail. You'll be the first point of contact for our clients—whether they’re picking up pet food, booking appointments, or needing advice on products.
Key Responsibilities :
Greet and assist clients in a warm, professional manner
Handle retail sales of pet food, pet care products, and accessories
Maintain a clean, well-stocked and visually appealing front shop area
Process payments (cash / card), handle returns, and issue receipts
Provide basic product knowledge to help clients choose suitable items
Answer incoming phone calls and assist with queries or redirect as needed
Assist with booking appointments and managing the reception area when required
Monitor stock levels and assist with stocktakes and ordering
Support the clinical team with general admin and customer service tasks
Ensure the shop area meets hygiene and safety standards
Requirements :
Previous retail or front-desk experience (ideally in a veterinary or pet care environment)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Good organisational and multitasking abilities
Comfortable with basic computer systems and point-of-sale software
Able to work in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment
Passionate about animals and client service
Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Bonus Points For :
Experience in a veterinary or pet-related retail setting
Knowledge of pet nutrition or parasite control products
Bilingual or multilingual skills
