Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll & HR Administrator to join our team in Pretoria. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company’s payroll function using Payspace software and supporting the HR department with day-to-day administrative tasks. This is a key position that ensures employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with labour laws and internal policies.

Payroll Administration (Payspace) :

  • Process monthly payroll accurately and timeously using Payspace.
  • Maintain and update employee records on the payroll system.
  • Handle statutory submissions (PAYE, UIF, SDL, EMP201, EMP501).
  • Reconcile payroll reports and ensure compliance with SARS regulations.
  • Address employee payroll queries and provide timely resolutions.
  • Generate monthly payroll reports for management.

HR Administration :

  • Maintain accurate employee records, contracts, and personnel files.
  • Support recruitment processes (posting job ads, scheduling interviews, preparing contracts).
  • Assist with onboarding and induction of new employees.
  • Administer leave records and update HR databases.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, and labour legislation.
  • Provide administrative support with performance management and training initiatives.
  • Assist with HR reporting and ad hoc projects as required.
  • Requirements

    Minimum of 3 years’ experience in HR administration, with payroll exposure.

    Strong working knowledge of Payspace payroll software (essential).

    Good understanding of HR processes and South African labour legislation.

    High attention to detail and accuracy.

    Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources / Payroll / Finance preferred.

    Payroll and HR-related certifications advantageous.
