Role Overview
This is not a traditional "head of department" role. It is a pure business development position where you will be responsible for driving new sales within the Retail / FMCG sector. You will focus on securing new freight forwarding and logistics business, ensuring service implementation, and managing ongoing client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, prospect, and secure new Retail / FMCG clients for freight forwarding and logistics solutions.
- Achieve and exceed new business sales targets.
- Develop tailored proposals, estimates, and presentations for client solutions.
- Negotiate rates and service agreements to ensure competitive, value-driven offerings.
- Establish new accounts and ensure smooth service implementation.
- Maintain CRM (Concerto) with accurate pipeline data and activity reporting.
- Stay informed on industry developments, competitor activity, and customer requirements.
Requirements
Matric essential.Minimum 3 years proven sales track record in Clearing & Forwarding.Previous formal sales training required.Strong knowledge of Retail / FMCG logistics needs.Demonstrated ability to secure and grow new accounts in freight forwarding.Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.Whats in it for you?
