The role of Supplier Quality Specialist is to support the Category Quality Manager in developing and deploying the Quality governance processes of the Culinary category for supplier and third-party manufacturer (3PM) approval, performance management and continuous improvement. Works closely with Procurement, R&D, Business Partners, and any other Group, Category and Site functions that have an impact on supplier and 3PM quality. Establishment and communication of Tiger Brands’ supplier / 3PM quality requirements to internal organizational functions and to suppliers and 3PMs.
Key responsibilities include :
- Develop and deploy the Quality governance standards, processes and procedures of the organization for supplier and third-party manufacturer (3PM) approval, performance management and continuous improvement.
- Support the Culinary manufacturing sites in ensuring the implementation of robust supplier quality management processes.
- Ensure that suppliers and 3PM’s quality processes and methods comply with the organization’s Quality & Food Safety Management system, standards, policies, processes, procedures, guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Drive the quality improvement initiatives across various FG, RM, PM and services suppliers supplying to Culinary sites.
- Ensuring suppliers selected are evaluated and compliant to Tiger Brand’s quality (QMS) standards and policies.
- Work with Procurement, suppliers, manufacturing / operations and key stakeholders to resolve supplier quality issues.
- Drive and educate Culinary supplier base about best-in-class quality initiatives in order to ensure best quality FG / RM / PM / Services is supplied to TB manufacturing sites.
- Establish and communicate Tiger Brands’ supplier quality requirements to Culinary sites and to suppliers and 3PMs.
- Conduct supplier and 3PMs audits as scheduled.
- Define, govern and track the overall supplier and 3PM risk-based quality audit program.
- Develop, deploy and monitor the supplier and 3PM quality performance KPIs, and provide support regarding supplier quality review processes.
- Define and provide inputs to Procurement (for inclusion in supplier and 3PM contracts) the key quality-related SLAs, KPIs and requirements which need to be adhered to by suppliers and 3PMs.
- Provide input to R&D, Culinary sites where required to ensure that materials and product specifications include the necessary quality and food safety requirements.
Serve as the 3PM quality representative in NPD projects, ensuring that supplier quality requirements are clearly defined, communicated, and embedded in project deliverables
