Commis Chef – Luxury Wine Estate | Stellenbosch Salary : Negotiable Depending on Experience
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis Chef to join the culinary team at a renowned luxury wine estate located in Stellenbosch. This is an excellent opportunity for an up-and-coming chef with a passion for fine cuisine and a desire to grow within a professional kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare all food items in accordance with recipes and quality standards
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries
- Conduct daily checks of mise-en-place to ensure freshness and quality
- Maintain proper stock rotation to ensure minimal wastage
- Demonstrate knowledge of menu items, daily features, and promotions
- Keep all work areas, equipment, and utensils clean and well maintained
- Follow kitchen procedures and adhere to service standards
- Comply with food safety and sanitation regulations at all times
Requirements :
Culinary diploma or relevant certificate1–2 years' previous experience in a 5-star restaurant or similar fine dining environment preferredWillingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidaysStrong interpersonal and communication skillsHigh attention to detail and a passion for qualitySelf-motivated and disciplined with a positive work ethicAbility to perform well under pressureFlexible, reliable, and accountableThis is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated chef to gain valuable experience within a refined and supportive kitchen setting, with ample opportunity for professional development.
