Take the Lead in Growth : Business Development Consultant

Are you a driven and entrepreneurial sales leader with a passion for securing new business and shaping success?

Supply Unchained is a highly specialised boutique consultancy known for driving efficiency and compliance through our core service lines : Operational Strategy, Procurement Consulting, BBBEE Strategy, and Training . We do not seek volume; we seek transformative client partnerships. We operate lean, prioritise expertise, and deliver high-impact, custom solutions.

We are seeking a seasoned, self-driven Business Development Consultant (BDC) to architect our growth by securing new anchor clients and forging strategic market partnerships. This is not a relationship management role—this is a role for a proven rainmaker.

The Role : Forge Strategic Partnerships, Drive Revenue

The BDC will be responsible for the entire acquisition lifecycle of large, strategic accounts that fit our specialised profile. Key responsibilities include :

  • Targeted Market Penetration : Strategically identifying and penetrating new sectors or client groups where our specific expertise is most valuable.
  • C‑Suite Cultivation : Establishing and nurturing relationships with C‑level executives and key decision‑makers at target organisations.
  • Value Proposition Leadership : Articulating our complex service offerings (Operational Strategy, Procurement, BBBEE, and Training) into clear, compelling, and relevant business outcomes tailored to the prospect's strategic needs.
  • Pipeline Autonomy : Managing a high-value pipeline independently, requiring minimal supervision and maximum accountability.

Compensation : Strictly Performance-Based (100% Commission)

This is an entrepreneurial role for a proven rainmaker. We do not offer a fixed salary or retainer; we offer an unmatched incentive structure tied solely to performance. We are seeking a strategic partner who is confident in their ability to generate high‑value engagements.

Model : This is a 100% commission‑only role.

Earning Potential : Your financial ceiling is unlimited and determined entirely by your ability to close deals. Our commission structure is designed to reward top‑tier consultants significantly above industry averages.

Non‑Negotiables : Who You Are

  • Consulting Sales Experience : Minimum 7+ years of verifiable experience with a direct, successful track record of selling consulting services in areas such as operational efficiency, procurement, or regulatory strategy to corporate clients.
  • Working Knowledge of Business Operations : A solid, practical understanding of core business functions (including Operations, Supply Chain, and HR / Compliance) that allows you to engage credibly with and scope solutions related to our key services (Operational Strategy, Procurement, BBBEE, and Training) for executives.
  • Network : An existing, credible network of senior decision‑makers.
  • Autonomy & Confidence : Proven ability to work independently, manage a high‑value pipeline, and meet aggressive targets without requiring daily management.
  • Communication : Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills—you must be able command a room with confidence and clarity.
